Juventus go head-to-head against Como on Monday. Read our Predictions and Betting Tips with Match Preview, Head-to-head stats (h2h) and Team Form Analysis.
Juventus vs Como Match Preview
Monday’s football game between Juventus and Como will bring down the curtain on the Serie A round 1. Juve finished the last Serie A season in third place, with the team making it to the Champions League and they are eyeing yet another top-four finish in the new domestic campaign. Samuel Iling-Junior and Moise Kean are no longer part of the team, while Adrien Rabiot and Alex Sandro have yet to sign new deals.
On the other hand, the club chiefs have added the likes of Douglas Luiz, Khephren Thurman, and Juan Cabal to the squad. The newcomers, on the other hand, are hit by Raphael Varane’s injury. As the summer signing picked up a knock in the Coppa Italia defeat to Sampdoria, we predict that “the Old Lady” is going to pick up all three points from the match. In their last meeting in the Italian top flight, back in 2003, Juventus defeated Como 3-1.
How the bookies view it: Juventus overwhelming favourites
Juventus have the upper hand among the bookies and are priced at 1/3 by Betfred to claim the win. An unlikely victory for Como is valued at 9/1 by 90jili, who is also offering odds of 4/1 for a draw.
Head to head: Juventus unbeaten
Both teams met twice during the 2002-03 Serie A season, with Juventus unbeaten across both matches. The Turin club were held to a 1-1 draw at home before claiming a 3-1 victory in the reverse fixture.
Players to watch: Vlahovic to strike
Juventus have managed to hold on to Dusan Vlahovic, who scored 16 Serie A goals last season. The Serbian striker will be the one to watch on Monday and is priced at 10/11 by 188jili to score anytime.
The Turin club will be looking to set a standard for the new season and will be targeting a shutout on Monday. Bremer remains a rock at the back and can lead the hosts to a clean sheet at 7/10 with wjpeso.
Probable line-ups
As always Vlahovic should lead the line for Juventus, with Kenan Yildiz providing support. Bremer is expected to feature in defence while Douglas Luiz could be set for his debut.
Raphael Varane picked up an injury in last week’s Coppa America and will miss the season opener for Como. Federico Barba should feature in defence while Patrick Cutrone and Andrea Belotti are expected to line up in attack.
Juventus: Di Gregorio, Danilo, Bremer, Gatti, Cabal, Locatelli, Thuram, Weah, Douglas Luiz, Yildiz, Vlahovic
Como: Pepe Reina, Iovine, Goldaniga, Barba, Moreno, Mazzitelli, Braunoder, Gabriel Strefezza, Cutrone, da Cunha, Belotti
Juventus vs Como Prediction
Juventus did not look great in pre-season and we don’t see any value in backing them to win at the 1.33 odds here.
We expect Como to give the Bianconeri a game on Monday. Como have an interesting attacking line with the likes of Gabriel Strefezza, Patrick Cutrone, and Andrea Belotti. The former duo combined for the team’s only goal in a 1-1 draw at Sampdoria last weekend.
Juventus are still big favourites. They had a strong home record in the previous term of Serie A. We will thus back draw at the half time and Juve’s win at the end at the 3.75 odds as the main betting option.
You can alternatively chase the Over 2.5 goals FT pick at the 1.80 odds. Both Thiago Motta and Cesc Fabregas fancy attacking-minded football.
Juventus have been dreadful defensively in pre-season and we can hardly imagine them keeping a clean sheet on Monday.
